Privacy notice
This notice covers the contact form on www.giftu-carib.com, and the list of people who have asked us to tell them when GiftU launches. It does not cover the GiftU app, which is not open to the public yet; that will have its own notice when it opens.
Who we are
GIFTU Caribbean Ltd, a company registered in Barbados (company number 55372), is responsible for the personal data described here (the "controller"). You can reach us about it at hello@giftu-carib.com.
What we collect
- What you type into the form: your name, your email address, your company if you give one, and your message.
- Whether you ticked "Email me when GiftU launches".
Our hosting provider records technical details of each request to the site, such as your IP address and the time, to keep the service secure and working. We don't add anything you type into the form to those records.
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking.
Why we use it, and on what basis
- To reply to your message. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering the people who write to us.
- To tell you when GiftU launches, only if you ticked the box. We rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by writing to us. Leaving the box unticked doesn't affect your message.
We don't use your details for anything else, and we don't sell or share them.
Who handles it for us
- Vercel hosts this site and runs the form, in the United States.
- Resend delivers the form's message to our inbox, from the United States.
- Zoho hosts our email inbox, in its European Union data centre.
We never send email to the address you give in the form except to reply to you, or to tell you about the launch if you asked.
International transfers
Your details are processed in the United States and the European Union. Where they leave the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards in our providers' data processing terms, such as the standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your message stays in our inbox while we deal with it, and for up to 12 months after our last exchange with you. Then we delete it.
- If you asked to hear about the launch, we keep your name and email address until we have sent the launch email, and then delete them, unless you have become a customer by then. You can ask us to remove you sooner.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your details, to correct them, to delete them, or to stop using them, and you can withdraw your consent to the launch email at any time. Write to hello@giftu-carib.com, and we'll answer within a month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live (in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office), or to the Data Protection Commissioner in Barbados.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
